The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) is the national professional organization for podiatrists. We are located in Bethesda, MD, and have more than 12,000 members across the US and Puerto Rico. We are seeking candidates for the role of Administrative Specialist, a full-time position reporting to the Career Development Manager and Director of Clinical Affairs. The Administrative Specialist will provide staff support in the implementation of programs and services designed to further the careers of young physicians as well as to support and engage in activities to promote the profession of podiatric medicine. In addition, the Administrative Specialist will have an opportunity to use and learn a variety of skills to provide necessary and critical support.

Specific tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Create surveys and collect data/track results.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating young physician and student recruitment events and initiatives.
  • Collect lead contact information and data for: college advisors, college admissions, and pre-health students.
  • Draft Young Physician Accomplishments and APMA News magazine articles for publication.
  • Track profession-wide events to ensure streamlined student recruitment messaging is being shared consistently and appropriate follow-up is being done.
  • Data entry and management needed for ongoing projects.
  • Manage scholarship/fellowship application processes.
  • Develop infographics and webpages; also includes website updates.
  • Coordinate committee activities (scheduling, agenda creation with staff and Chairperson, minutes, dissemination, and follow-up on action items).
  • Represent APMA at various meetings as exhibitor or program coordinator.
  • Other duties as assigned.
