The performs physical/manual labor everywhere in the Plant. May work alone or with others and is often assigned to do work in various other job classifications where temporary vacancies occur.
Clean up/Pick up trash and garbage from grounds, floors, etc. inside and outside buildings.
Janitorial services for restrooms and lunchrooms.
Clean anode molds with needle gun.
Tie bags and band materials for loading onto and into vehicles and containers.
Band cathodes and coils of rod with pneumatic bander.
Separate refractories from metals by hand and load into containers.
Wash floors with hoses.
Shovel snow, wet materials (mud or slimes), dry materials, etc.
Supply materials and tools to other employees.
Roll fire hose.
Clean out railroad car or truck and prepare for loading.
Move office furniture from office to office or building to vehicle to building.
Pull weeds, spray herbicides.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to wear a respirator.
Ability to exert 100 pounds of force occasionally ,and up to 60 pounds frequently.
Ability to ascend or descent ladders, scaffolding, stairs, ramps and the like with agility.
Ability to maintain equilibrium to prevent falling from precarious situations.
Ability to lower the body to floor level and move about.
Ability to extend arms in any direction.
Ability to support oneself in any erect position.
Ability to substantially press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
Ability to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Ability to perceive attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature or texture by tactile means.
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written word.
Ability to perceive the nature of sounds with no less than a 40db loss @ 500 Hz, 1000Hz, 2,000 HZ and 3,000 HZ without correction.
PHYSICAL SURROUNDINGS (SUBJECTED TO)
Inside and outside environmental conditions.
Temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
Sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
Vibration (oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body).
Potentially hazardous physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals (airborne and/or skin).
Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation that affect the respiratory system or skin.
Working in confined spaces.
