REPORTS TO: Head of Business Development and Head of Policy and Research POSITION SUMMARY: Represent the Network in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Play a key role in defining and implementing the Business Network for Offshore Wind business development and policy strategy in PA, NJ and NY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Works with Head of Business Development and membership coordinator to develop an inventory of primary relationship building targets and create a matrix for membership and sponsorship outreach. - Maintain regular contact with member companies, partner companies and potential members - Responsible for the recruitment of members and developing and maintaining productive relationships in PA, NJ and NY - Promote the supply chain registry and assist with the build out and marketing campaign - Conduct local presentations on US OSW market, Business Network and Supply Chain at local organization monthly meetings - Builds out the Network Membership - Act as primary liaison with government agencies, local NGOs and stakeholder organizations - Work with Network Public Affairs staff and consultants to identify local media outlets and help place press releases locally - Identifies and helps secure local strategic partners to help bolster attendance of events; speaking engagements for Network executive team and maintains local relationships - Provide local OSW market insight, developments and analysis to Network Executive Team - Provide Weekly notifications of legislative and regulatory developments - Prepare written testimony - Participate in policy setting meetings and works with head of Policy and Research to prepare policy positions (includes Grid and Transmission) - Conducts One on One Meetings with Local Mayors and Town Council Members; key stakeholders to increase awareness - Write articles for newsletter and member updates - Develops and manages local Network events as needed - Contribute to overall financial performance of the budget particularly in relation to membership, partnership and income generation - Identify income generation opportunities including selling sponsorships for all events (IPF, small events, happy hours) - Use CRM and Membership Association Software to maximum benefit - Provide Presentations on membership and US OSW Market developments Perform any duties commensurate with the position as required Knowledge & Skills Required - Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university - At least two -five years office experience - Must exhibit and demonstrate proven entrepreneurship capabilities - The ability to think strategically - A sound understanding of member organizations, customer service and business development - Understanding of renewable energy policy and grid & transmission issues - Ambitious and focused with a drive to succeed - Relevant business development experience - Ability to work in a virtual office and integrate with co-workers from a remote location - A sound knowledge of marketing, customer service and energy policy - IT literate with extensive experience of all aspects of Microsoft Office - Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral with an ability to do so at all levels - Able to operate over several projects and meet deadlines - Ability to maintain complete confidentiality at all times - Experience in dealing with senior executives within businesses of all sizes - Must have a professional manner and attitude - Must be willing to learn and adapt to change - Self-motivated, confident and able to work as part of a small team and on own initiative - Knowledge of the energy industry, and knowledge of offshore wind a plus Other: - Position is preferably located in New Jersey. - Salary is commiserated with level of experience The Business Network for Offshore Wind is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization solely focused on the development of the U.S. offshore wind industry and advancement of its supply chain.
