Facebook seeks a highly-motivated and experienced attorney to serve as an eDiscovery & Information Governance Lead Counsel. The position is located in the eDiscovery & Information Governance Team within Facebook's Legal Department. The position adds to an already strong team andreports to the Director and Associate General Counsel of eDiscovery & Information Governance. This position will play a key role in developing best practices and providing legal guidance to Facebook's global litigation, regulatory, investigation, and product teams.

The ideal candidate is a skilled attorney and a natural communicator who can work closely with teams throughout Facebook to guide and advise on information governance and eDiscovery issues. The eDiscovery & Information Governance Lead Counsel will have the opportunity to work with legal and business partners to develop world-class and cutting-edge solutions to information governance challenges and eDiscovery matters. The candidate should have great intellectual curiosity and a desire to invest time and energy into learning and growing as a subject matter expert. The candidate should have the ability to work proactively with teams to build consensus across the organization, including legal, IT and security. Inaddition, excellent judgment and comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment is required.

Required Skills
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of information governance workflows and policies.
  • Meaningfully contribute to and execute strategic plans for information governance and eDiscovery companywide.
  • Rapidly identify, analyze and address complicated issues, and distill that complexity into simple and concise communication in cross-functional settings.
  • Apply information governance and eDiscovery subject matter expertise when advising in-house and outside counsel on active litigation, regulatory, and investigation matters.
  • Work collaboratively with the eDiscovery and Information Governance Team members, case teams, business partners, outside counsel, and vendors.

Minimum qualification
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5+ years of work experience at a law firm, government agency, or in-house with a focus on regulatory matters, information governance, and litigation
  • Experience managing projects and supervising people
  • Experience with eDiscovery and information governance technology and tools
  • Experience coordinating with a variety of audiences, including legal, technical, and policy teams, and communicating across cross-functional partnerships


Preferred qualification
  • Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving experience
  • Well-developed organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think under pressure, both individually and in a team environment
  • Strong information governance experience
