Project Manager

The primary role of this Project Manager position is to manage very large and complex customer projects and programs. This position will manage project financials, client relationships and team resources. The ideal candidate will be PMP certified, have experience delivering complex projects for a service provider, and experience managing 3rd party resources and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

This position is 100% travel; ideal candidates will be located in the central US.

  • Provides reliable financial forecasts to HPE Services (HPS) management
  • Manages client relationships
  • Manages very complex customer projects
  • Manages project financials including P&L
  • Manages project team for internal and external resources; team size typically less than 40 people
  • Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients
  • Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor s degree and 5 + years of experience in project management or in like roles/businesses
  • Must be PMP certified or willing to attain PMP certification within 6 months
  • Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Capacity to manage a project or program P&L
  • Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills
  • Comfort communicating and managing up and down in an organization
  • Ability to manage competing expectations from one s team, client, and employer
  • Familiarity with infrastructure centric projects involving data center, network, storage, and emerging cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with project and portfolio management software such as MS Project and PPM (Project & Portfolio Management Center)
  • Makes use of and contributes to HPE s PM Community of Practice
  • Identifies and develops new opportunities with client
  • Acts as opportunity manager seeking and helping close change orders
  • Ability to handle complex legal and commercial issues
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to make decisions to enhance the customer s support experience
