Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Pre-award Program Manager will support USP business development processes and donor engagement for public and private donors and provide general administrative support to the USP Resource Acquisition and Management Team. This position requires close collaboration with USP HQ and field staff, IRC?s Awards Management Unit, International Development Unit, and Finance Department.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Monitor public and private funding opportunity forecasts and solicitation announcements and inform relevant regional and field office teams of prospective solicitations.
  • Maintain USP business development and donor engagement resource library; update and/or develop new content as needed, distribute new resources to relevant field staff and train on their use.
  • Provide back-up support to other Resource Acquisition and Management staff as needed, including but not limited to project management support of proposal cycles; review, editing and submission of proposal packages; donor communications, acknowledgments, and responses to inquiries.
  • Track USP business development data, analyze trends, and prepare regular reports and briefings for departmental leadership.
  • Maintain federal grants calendar and other proposal tracking tools.
  • Manage USP?s Business Development Consultant Roster, including contracting and payment processes
  • Review and edit field office digital newsletters; develop annual newsletter calendar and conduct quality assurance checks on regional web pages
  • Project manage review of US Programs donor record listings in the IRC Annual Report (1x per year).
  • General administrative support to the Resource Acquisition Team including liaising with other IRC HQ units, conference/workshop planning, managing platform subscriptions and other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum 2-4 years of progressive business development and/or fundraising experience
  • Prior proposal development or individual fundraising experience
  • Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work flexibly and to solve problems with appropriate input from relevant stakeholders
  • Positive, forward looking and able to work well in a team oriented environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Education: Bachelor?s Degree
