The JV&P team covers all forms of business collaboration from licensing and distribution agreements, franchises and minority stakes through to equity joint ventures, resulting in a varied client base including both Corporates and Private Equity, and a wide range of engagements. As Lincolns newest service, JV&P provides an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to grow with the team and shape its position in the market.Main purpose and scope of the jobTo analyze and understand business, capital markets, industry and market research, and financial and business information in support of the preparation of JV&P proposal and client engagement-related documents . To support all JV&P delivery and business development activities. If based outside the UK, the successful candidate must be prepared to spend time with the core JV&P team based in the London office at least during the early months and to travel up to 50% of the time on an ongoing basis.The Role Will Involve Carrying out data collection and research for use on engagements, targeting prospective clients and other business development activity Identifying trends / issues and forming hypotheses / potential conclusions on the data / research collected Supporting senior team members in the preparation of business proposals and presentations Assisting with the delivery of client engagements, whilst learning and adopting key JV&P methodologies and processes, e.g. preparing questionnaires for use in a JV Health Check Helping to present findings to clients Taking notes during client meetings and writing these up swiftly, accurately and concisely Updating the teams pipeline and financial forecast, under the direction of a senior JV&P team member, including accountability for coordination with other team members to update the pipeline regularly Developing JV&P marketing materials for publication in our quarterly newsletters and on the website, under the direction of a senior JV&P team member Some financial modelling and presentation of financial information, internally and to clients Skills And Experience Requires at least 1 year of full-time experience in investment banking or another relevant field Ideally, some direct experience (professional and/or personal) of collaborative working / JVs / strategic alliances / consortia Relevant professional qualification, e.g.(for the UK) ACA, CIMA etc., or demonstrable financial understanding from prior roles Financial analysis and modelling competency Excellent knowledge of and competency in Microsoft Office software, especially PowerPoint and Excel, including building draft client-ready proposals and reports that are coherent and logical for review by senior members of the JV&P / Lincoln team Fluency in at least one language other than English would be beneficial Key behaviors and competencies Work as part of a team and be willing to adopt a hands-on, collaborative and practical approach Interact well with colleagues; treat people with consideration and respect and maintain a supportive, collegiate culture within the firm Engage and interact with clients in a mature and professional manner Communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear, concise, compelling manner, grammatically correct in preparing and presenting proposals, reports and marketing materials Take an active interest in other countries and cultures; some global travel, including occasional 2-3-week periods in client offices overseas, is involved Be intellectually curious, receptive to feedback, think ahead, be proactive, contribute ideas and insights to the team; seek guidance when planning and prioritizing tasks Produce clear, concise and accurate analysis, demonstrating attention to detail and technical knowledge (e.g. analysis of financial documentation) Understand, prepare and interpret financial models showing competence and confidence in technical aspects e.g. WACC, normalized EBITDA, debt capacity and working capital Work on several projects at once while continuing to produce quality output; take pride in your work Exhibit strong commercial awareness and understanding of business environments and anticipate issues that may arise; have an awareness of the roles of other professional advisers on your deals Additional InformationLincoln International is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
