Job Function Summary :
The Financial Analyst II is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis. He/She prepares financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. The position gathers and publishes financial information related to historical, current and future performance. The Analyst also performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques and recommends alternative courses of action.
Job Functions : (Primary essential duties and responsibilities)
Participate in the development of detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.
Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.
Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.
Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.
Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools.
Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables.
Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements and the required action plan.
Required Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge and basic application of business concepts, procedures and practices. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
Use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve routine problems. Works on problems of limited scope. Minimal independent decision making.
Complete daily work to meet established schedule with guidance from supervisor on prioritization of tasks.
May exercise authority within pre-established limits and approval. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on the business.
Establish and cultivate a network of internal resources to facilitate completion of tasks. Individual influence is typically exerted at the peer level.
Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
Intermediate skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
Experience and Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Finance or Business related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience with a basic understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
