Human Resources Business Partner, Long Canyon

Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) to join the Long Canyon team. The human resources business partner serves as an internal consultant to minesite leadership and employees on human resources-related matters by forming partnerships in the areas of employee selection, talent assessment, workforce planning, change management, internal communication, and employee relations. This person will also be responsible for the design & development of multiple analytical dashboards to bring insights to HR and business leaders.

Responsibilities:

Consults with minesite leadership, providing HR guidance when appropriate.

Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.

Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day leadership of employees, ensuring legal compliance and HR best practices

Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to minesite leadership (e.g., coaching, career development, disciplinary actions).

Works closely with minesite leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.

Collaborates with mine-site leadership to develop terms (e.g., upgrades, salary adjustments) for new hires, promotions and transfers.

Provides guidance and input on group restructures, workforce planning and succession planning in collaboration with Human Resources and Operations.

Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations in collaborations with minesite leadership and partners legal counsel where required.

Ensure internal investigations are done within full compliance of all relevant State and Federal laws and regulations.

Prepare and timely maintain all manpower manning tables to ensure compliance with manpower for each division.

Coordinate with Talent Acquisition to ensure recruiting efforts are timely and in compliance with the current budgeted manpower by group.

Partner with legal counsel where required.

Collaborate with health and safety to delivery new hire onboard training as require.

Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR Services group to develop solutions, programs and policies.

Routinely contribute to the Human Resources reporting system.

Prepare presentations and deliver information to minesite leaders and others are requiring related to HR metrics, HR predictive metrics and recommended outcomes.

Consulted HR heads on talent analytics program development

Project manager for development of a strategic workforce planning tool and other talent process

Prepare talent analytics for board materials

Design & Develop multiple analytical dashboards to bring insights to HR and business leaders

Partner with functional and technical experts on developing systems to drive meaningful talent analytical processes

Partner with stakeholders for developing meaningful analysis across Human Resources

Participate in various HR projects providing analytical support and advisement.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 7 years’ experience in human resource management in an industrial setting. Several years in mining required.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience resolving complex employee relations issues required

Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, etc.) required

In-depth experience in Talent/HR analytics program development required.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in formal project management preferred.

Knowledge of and ability to use the organization’s and industry’s standards, procedures, and policies relevant to human resources management preferred.

Working knowledge of online Talent Management Programs preferred.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite and related systems required.

Proven safe work record required.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex information via a simplistic approach required.

Flexibility to work staggered hours to support a 24/7 continuous, fast-paced operation required.

Resolute in handling confidential/sensitive information required.

Nevada Gold Mines is a joint venture between Barrick Gold Corporation (61.5%) and Newmont Goldcorp Corporation (38.5%), combining their significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements.
