OceanX is seeking an experienced Senior Windows System Administrator/Engineer responsible for infrastructure implementations and maintenance, AWS configurations, PCI security compliance, and CI/CD deployment automation. This is a highly-technical, hands-on role where you will be working in a large AWS stack, assist in the creation of strategic and long-term infrastructure planning, support and collaborate with the DevOps team, and be a key member in our move to IAC (Infrastructure-As-Code).
This role participates in a 24x7x365 on-call support rotation and is responsible for OSI 1 through 7 on business-critical applications, system monitoring, contingency planning, security, performance tuning, software distribution, and production support.
Evaluate, install, debug, audit, maintain, and document multiple Microsoft server farms.
Configure and administer AWS instances
Configure and administer Oracle OCI instances
Configure and administer Microsoft IIS, SSRS, MSMQ, and Biztalk application
Create and maintain server and application monitoring alerts via tools like Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
Automate server, network, and application configurations using deployment tools.
Participate in a Change Management environment with the Operations technical team.
Be a part of an on-call rotation that does 24x7 monitoring, triage and remediations.
Deploy Infrastructure-As-Code for mass deployments, rapid instance swaps, and business continuity strategies.
Configure and automate security vulnerability remediations and patching and code deployments.
Ability to work, collaborate, and communicate well in a team-based environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
7+ years of proven experience supporting Windows systems in HA and scalable environments
3+ years of Windows PowerShell scripting experience
Strong knowledge and experience in PowerShell, scripting, deployment automation, and architecture in large production server environments.
Solid understanding of DevOps culture within an organization
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft server stack, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and Clustering.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Microsoft characteristics and limitations, including standard services, protocols, and applications.
Strong knowledge and understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure
Strong experience leveraging monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus, and CloudWatch to provide Continues Monitoring and Alerting.
Ability to plan, document, install, and effectively implement complex server software across heterogeneous server environments.
Ability to diagnose server and network problems effectively to resolve issues.
Ability to express oneself clearly and logically, both written and verbally, within a passionate technical team.
Ability to set goals, multitask, and execute to plans.
Knowledge of virtual machine administration (VMWare, Oracle, Hyper-V, etc.).
Strong Windows PowerShell scripting experience.
Strong Windows skills - architecture, implementation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
Solid knowledge of IAC (Infrastructure-As-Code) and CloudFormation
Ability to create and maintain technical documentation
Ability to have clear communication with cross-functional teams with attention to details and ability to prioritize.
