The Specialty Coatings and Materials business unit has been a participant in the Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) business since 2000 working with Universal Display Corporation’s (UDC) proprietary OLED materials.
The Chemical Process Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership to the OLED production area to ensure a safe and efficient manufacturing environment is maintained. The role is responsible for the engineering, design and implementation of projects to continually improve safety and quality, as well as reduce product variation. The Engineer will work in an office environment within a chemical manufacturing facility with frequent plant and laboratory exposure.
Work with a cross functional team to define and write scopes for capital projects
Lead relationship with outside vendors during equipment specification, design and procurement.
Lead communications for project updates to Barberton and business leadership and directly to our customer
Ensure compliance with corporate environmental and safety guidelines
Manage or direct contractors during project implementation
This role works in a dynamic environment created by a growing business and frequent new product introductions, so the ability to react and adapt to change is critical.
Bachelors of Science degree in chemical engineering is required
5+ years of experience in a chemical plant
3+ years of Project Management
Knowledge of Process Safety Management
Manufacturing experience with Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient technologies will be beneficial
Management of multiple capital projects ($300M to $5MM+)
Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification
