Human Resources Generalist
Robert Half is working with a Kalamazoo, MI client that is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join its growing team. Responsibilities and Job Functions:
Provide a broad range of human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, compensation, benefits, training and development, employee relations and retention, compliance, and reporting.
Develop and implement strategic initiatives for recruiting a diverse talent pool in the transportation industry.
Administer leave programs, such as FMLA, WC, Disability, to include tracking and reporting.
Provide support to employees on basic employee relations questions and inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Perform benefits administration regarding 401(K), Medical/Dental/Vision enrollments and changes.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
Manage the onboarding procedures by preparing for new hire orientation, and ensuring that managers are prepared for a new hire's first day of employment, processes new hire paperwork, payroll etc.
HRIS systems administration and management (Paycor/ADP/Kronos etc.)
Assist in the annual review, preparation, and administration of the organization compensation program.
Maintain responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
Support all Employee Engagement initiatives
Consult with management, providing HR guidance as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field. HR Certifications are a plus.
5+ years of related work experience, transportation industry exp is a plus.
Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines. (recruiting, benefits, compensation, employee relations, performance management, federal and state employment laws)
Excellent organizational, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills, and ability to balance and complete multiple deadlines and conflicting priorities.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate among multiple functions and levels within the organization.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point.
Experience with HR systems such as Paycor, ADP or KRONOS is a strong plus.
